Play, Learn and Grow Together

Week Beginning 25th Jan

Topic

This week we are looking at the story Goldilocks and The Three Bears. The bears made porridge for their breakfast. With some help with your family, what would you like to make for your breakfast? It could be toast, cereal, waffles, fruit or pancakes. I would love to see what you have. Maybe some bears might come and have breakfast with you.

Can you decorate a bear mask or paint the characters from the story? Choose your favourite part of the story and become the character. I would love to hear you retell the story in your own way. What does daddy bear say?

Literacy

Have some fun and sing along to the Goldilocks song. Can you make your own actions to the song?

Have some fun getting messy with shaving cream.

  • Squirt two dollops of shaving cream onto a tray.
  • Add a few drops of food colouring or washable paint onto the shaving cream.
  • Choose two of the primary colours - red, blue or yellow to mix together to make a secondary colour.
  • Talk about the colours that you started with and watch as they magically mix to make a different colour! What colours can you make? Can you make orange or purple?

  • Smooth the shaving cream, using your hands and write some letters of the alphabet. What words can you make? Or you can make some different patterns, using your fingers.

  • Squirt dots of foam onto your tray and use your fingers to connect the dots to form some letters of your name.

Can you think of different ways to mix colours? Skittles rainbow, celery and food colouring. I am looking forward to seeing your photos.

Maths

Can you find something big and small around your house? Can count three objects or write numbers up to three.
