Wales at War

As part of the LPS Matrix approach, we discussed our prior knowledge, discussed what we would like to learn about, created questions to explore and identified skills we would need to use throughout the topic.

 

Here are the questions we created: 

 

  1. How and why did WWII start?

  2. Who were the main leaders during World War II?

  3. Where did the evacuees go? How did it affect people’s lives?

  4. What was school like during WWII?

  5. How did the war affect the food people ate?

  6.  What was rationing and how did it affect people lives?

  7. Air Raids:

    1. Why was it called the Blitz?

    2. Were people always prepared for the bombing?

    3. What damage did the bombs cause?

  8. How were the people of Britain protected during air raids?

  9. How many people died during the war? What effect did this have on the population of Britain?

  10. How did the war change life for women?

  11. How many people fought in World War II? How many people died?

  12. How did the War end?

  13. How long did it take to repair the damage caused by the war?

  14. Might there be another World War?
