The children enjoyed making a habitat for the dinosaurs. By looking at some information books, the children found out where some dinosaurs like to live and what they like to eat. They looked in the yard to find places that the dinosaurs might like to stay.
Some dinosaurs had escaped from the zoo and were found in our yard. The dinosaurs had frozen in the cold weather. The children had to free the dinosaurs from the ice, using tools. They then wanted to make their own ice sculptures.
The children helped to make a plan, to find out which ice block would melt the quickest. The children put one ice block outside in the cold and the other in a warm room. They predicted that the block of ice left indoors would melt the quickest because it warm inside.
