MATHS HOMEWORK 12.1.18

In Maths this week we have been directing Superheroes using the following vocabulary:

whole turn, quarter turn, half turn, left, right.

Use your HWB password (reminders were sent home this Friday) and go onto J2e 'Turtle'. Use the arrows to direct the rocket around the background. 

MATHS HOMEWORK 19.1.18

In Maths this week we have been learning to tell the time. It has been tricky! We have worked on:

o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.

Some of us have started to tell the time in five minute intervals e.g. 25 past 1, 10 to 7.

Have a go at telling the time as often as you can with your family. Look at the clock when your favourite TV programme starts. What time do you do your weekend hobby? What time is it when you have lunch? Try to use it as much as possible to consolidate the tricky work we have done this week.

MATHS HOMEWORK 26.1.18

We will be concentrating on our times tables! There will be a times table quiz next Friday.

Grwp Gwyrdd - 5 and 10 times table test.

Grwp Coch a Glas - 2, 5 and 10 times table test.                      Groups are the same as Spelling groups.

I am aware that the children are all at different stages of learning their tables. If the children know their 3 or 4 times tables I will test them on those too next week.  By  the end of this half term all children should be comfortable with their 2, 5 and 10 times table if possible.

To help you learn your tables:

• show your parents how we play Last Man Standing and play along with your family
• play Beat the Clock! Set a timer and see how many questions you can answer within the given time.
• practise on the way to the park or in the car - little and often.

MATHS HOMEWORK 2.2.18

Next week our quiz will be on doubling e.g. double 3 is 6. We will be working on all doubles up to double 20. Practise these at home until you know them very quickly!

(After half term we will be having a quiz on the 3 times table - if you want to get started on them)

Our mental maths quiz next week will be a recap over this half term's work. We will be covering:

* doubles to 20

* half of a number up to 20 

* 2,5,10 times table

* o' clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past

Practise these at home ready for our final quiz of the half term.
