Why you should use our Wraparound service
Finding childcare that you trust can be a time consuming and costly. It also might not always be practical if your nearest childcare service is far away. That’s why we introduced our Wraparound service – a full day care service that runs between 7:30am-5:30pm. We’re cheaper than most daycare providers and you won’t be tied into any contracts.
Your child doesn’t have to be a pupil in the school to use our services – we welcome any child aged between 3 and 12 from any school, so make sure to let your friends and family know that they can use us too.
In September 2017, we were lucky to become one of the pilot schools for the Welsh Government’s new childcare scheme. All working parents with children aged 3 or 4 are eligible for 30 hours a week of childcare and early years education free of charge for 48 weeks a year. Any eligible child who attends nursery class for 12.5 hours a week will get an additional 17.5 hours a week of free childcare. This means that if you want to bring your child in for school for one half of the day and then use our Wraparound service for the other half, this is completely free of charge. For any other details about the scheme, click here. We also accept childcare vouchers.
We believe that learning through play helps children build their self-esteem and confidence, which is why we encourage it in Wraparound. There are plenty of activities for the children to get stuck into – painting and crafts, cooking, games, outdoor play and so much more. We also have an area where the children can relax and chat.
Healthy eating is important at LPS and this extends to Wraparound. We want to ensure all our snacks are nutritious and healthy and we’ll keep you informed on what the children are eating. In the after-school club you can opt for your child to have a hot snack, which costs just £1.
As you don’t need to sign any complicated contracts that tie you in, booking is simple. Just fill out a Wraparound booking form, which can be found online or in the office, by the Wednesday of the week before you want to book your child in. Hand it back to the office with the payment and that’s it! For more information, please see the Wraparound section of the website, or you can contact the office on 01792 771497 / Lynda.phillips@swansea-edunet.gov.uk
