Nursery Welcome Letter

WELCOME TO NURSERY!

Dear Parents,

We would like to welcome you all to Nursery! We are looking forward to seeing you, having fun and getting busy. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and outline the routines of the class.

Mrs Stabler and I will be welcoming your children into nursery while working closely with Miss Williams, Mrs Kinsey and Miss Fenn. If you have a query or want to discuss any matters, just let us know and we will answer any questions you may have, or arrange a time to discuss this further.

Drop-off and Collection

School starts at 8.45am and finishes at 11.30am. We ask that all children are lined up behind the gate in the middle yard where I will come to greet you. We will then walk into class and all the nursery staff will be waiting to help your child to place their belongings are on their own peg etc.

At the end of the school day, we will dismiss children individually, when we see their parent. Initially, this may take a little time, however once we learn all of your faces we will get quicker! Please let us know if another family member or friend is picking your child up that day. If you have any concerns over how your child is settling please don’t hesitate to contact the office to gain further reassurance.

Snacks and drinks

Please could your child bring a healthy drink labelled every day. Please could your child have their drink ready to put in our snack box, which will be placed at the main door as they enter the classroom. In order to maintain up to date records, please could you let me know of any allergies, medication or dietary requirements your child may have.

Clothing

Please could you place a set of spare clothes, shoes and socks in your child’s bag every day, as the children may have accidents. The children will be encouraged to change into their dry clothes with support from the staff. We would ask that all items of clothing, coats and jumpers to be labelled clearly with your child’s name.

Class Topic

Our topic this half term is ‘The dino eggs are hatching’. In this topic, the children will be learning about different types of dinosaurs and their characteristics. There will be many more, fun activities for the children to do and we can’t wait to get started!

PE

PE will take place on Wednesday. For the near future, PE will only take place outdoors. Please could your child come to school already dressed in an outdoor PE kit (joggers/leggings, T-shirt, trainers and school jumper).

Messy Monday

The children will be using the outdoor area on a daily basis so please bring a coat every day. However, on a Monday we will be spending more of our time outdoors! Messy Monday will start back from Monday 13th September. The children can wear plenty of warm layers of their own clothes to school, as we spend the whole morning outside exploring fun activities. You can find photos and videos of our great experiences during Messy Monday on the class webpage.

School Website

Please visit our class page regularly. As well as homework, I will post regular photos and videos in order to share all the great work we are doing in Nursery.

Hopefully this answers any questions you have. If there are any further queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your support.

Mrs Harris-Griffiths
