Numeracy

We are learning about doubles and how to double numbers.

We have been finding odd and even numbers by halving.

This week our focus has been 2D shapes. We have looked at their names, their properties and have been sorting them.

We have been looking at the James Webb Telescope. We noticed that the main mirror was made up of hexagons. We investigated shapes to see what other shapes we could use to create a similar pattern. We know now that this is tessellation.

We used the results from our shape investigation to design a new telescope for NASA.

We have been learning about money and making amounts.

We have been using non-standard and standard units to measure the weight of items around the classroom.
