We are the Eco Warriors

Our Eco Green Flag Action Plan

Big News!!

LPS has been awarded its 2nd Green Flag.

LPS Healthy Snack Award

Llangyfelach is a Healthy School, and we encourage all the children to only bring healthy snacks in to school.

Every day each class takes a tally of how many children have a healthy snack. At the end of every week we add up the overall scores and the class with the most wins for that week.

The class that wins the most, wins a healthy basket of fruit at the end of the term.

LPS has joined Keep Wales Tidy's -Litter Free Zone Project.

A This is a scheme designed to help encourage schools and businesses keep their local area and community litter free.

We have adopted a specific area in our local community, in which we will do regular litter picks to keep the area clean.

Click here to find out more about the Litter Free Zones project.

The Eco-Warriors were trained on how to correctly carry out a Litter Pick.

We delivered an assembly to the whole school, informing them about The Litter Free Zone Project and how to carry out a litter pick.

Good Thymes Gardening.

At LPS we have been working closely with the Good Thymes Gardening Team who have provided a structure to support the whole school community by:

  • Utilising and enhancing our allotment areas.
  • supporting curriculum development
  • undertaking outdoor hands-on learning experiences
  • providing focused well-being sessions for learners
  • providing staff and the LPS community access well-being activities
  • supporting community ownership over outdoor developments
  • enhancing extra-curricular activities

During our sessions which have not only focused on the Well-Being of all involved, but also we have been planting, making bug houses and compost.

We are growing so many different things in our allotments...Look at those strawberries...yummy!!

We encourage children to help the planet and to be more fit and healthy by walking, cycling or scooting to school instead of driving.

Pengors Road Project.

We are trying to make our school road a safer place to cross and walk along.

Feedback from our Pengors Road Questionnaire.

LPS are excited to announce that we are taking part in Waste Week 2022.
