Woodland Trust Tree Giveaway

The Welsh Government and Coed Cadw, the Woodland Trust in Wales, are offering trees to households in Wales, free of charge. The trees will help tackle the effects of climate change and will also contribute to the National Forest for Wales.

The first 5,000 trees were given away in March 2022. Between now and March 2023 we have 295,000 trees available on a first-come first served basis. There are three ways you can get hold of trees.

1. The Woodland trust plant a tree for you - which you can donate to Cae Felin!

Don't worry if you don't have space to plant your own tree, you can still take part.

The Woodland Trust have partnered with Welsh landowners (including Cae Felin) to provide space to plant trees on their land on your behalf. All these native trees will contribute to the National Forest for Wales.

Plant a tree for me - how it works

  • To have a tree planted on your behalf, complete this online form.
  • Once they have received your request, we'll ensure a tree is planted for you.
  • They have 55,000 trees to plant on behalf of people who don't have their own green space, and trees will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. Collect trees from a hub near you

The Woodland Trust have set up over 50 tree collection hubs throughout Wales. They'll be open from 19 November to 19 December 2022 and then again from February to March 2023. Click on the link below for more information.

3. Have a tree posted to you

If you are unable to get to a hub but would like a tree for your garden, the Woodland Trust can post a tree to you.
