Numeracy

The children identified the shapes on the kite and matched them.

Recognition of 2D shapes

The children counted the spring pictures and pegged the right number.

The children thoroughly enjoyed, using their magnifying glasses to explore seeds in different fruit and vegetables. They discovered not all seeds are the same. We talked about the size, shape and colour of the seeds. They then used their tweezers to count how many seeds they can remove. The children had fun sorting the seeds into size.

Making patterns, using seeds.

Learning simple addition

The children enjoyed writing their own sums.

The children enjoyed exploring seeds from different fruit. They counted and wrote the total number of seeds collected. They then recorded how many seeds they found by using a block graph. The children used the graph, to find out which fruit had the most and least seed inside.

The children had fun counting the leaves, when moving Jack up the beanstalk. They put the leaves in order to make a number line.

The children were very excited to find big footprints left on our carpet. At first they thought they were from the Gruffalo. Another child said it wasn't her feet, as they are too small. The giant left a letter and some beans. Asking them to measure how long the objects are and how tall their beanstalks have grown.

We had fun drawing tall and short beanstalks.
