Professional Learning Grant
At Llangyfelach Primary School, we aim to use our Professional Learning Grant to support the continuing professional learning for all staff. Professional learning should support improvements in pupil experiences, learner outcomes and learner wellbeing.
Focus: Curriculum 2022 AoLE Leader Training, Development, Implementation & Cluster Collaboration
Objectives:
Implement strategies for auditing current provision and ensuring effective implementation of the new curriculum.
Unpicking and understanding the language of the new curriculum.
Identifying the key knowledge and skills and making links to the Four Purposes.
Identifying effective approaches and strategies for each Area of Learning.
Ensure that all staff are well trained and confident in using outdoor environment to support learning.
Developing Progression Models, Learning Projects and Assessment Trackers for LPS and the cluster.
Developing a curriculum and experiences that needs to be cognitively demanding and challenging for all leaners as they apply Cross-curricular and Integral Skills to real world, complex and open-ended situations.
Develop curriculum content that will be interesting and relevant for our learners, involving intellectual challenges rich in Cross-cutting Themes.
Provide opportunities for learners to engage with learning experiences that broaden opportunities and horizons; providing enriched memorable experiences that directly relate to the real world and consolidate learning.
Impact
Enhanced pupil voice across the school and curriculum.
Appropriate balance between focused teaching and pupil's self-directed learning.
Effective deployment of adults to improve standards.
Differentiation meeting the needs of all learners.
Excellent classroom organisation and practice.
Improved systems for assessment for and of learning.
Refined and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, providing progression and continuity in all Areas of Learning.
Improved Self Directed Learning of nearly all pupils.
LPS and Cluster curriculum must be rigorous, engaging and relevant in design.
