6.3.26

This week in maths, we have been learning about halving even numbers to 20. Halving means sharing a number into two equal parts.

At home, please can you:

  • Practise halving even numbers to 20.

  • Use small objects (such as pasta, coins, toys, or buttons) to help you share into two equal groups.

  • Say the halves out loud.

For example:

  • Half of 2 = 1

  • Half of 4 = 2

  • Half of 6 = 3

  • Half of 10 = 5

More activities:

  • Find even numbers to 20 and practise halving them.

  • Draw a number of objects and circle half of them.

  • Challenge: Can you halve 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20?
