Wales, Wars and Weddings
As part of the project, the learning is centred around lots of different, interesting questions. These questions cover each Area of Learning and allow the children to gain rich knowledge about the project.
As part of our LPS Matrix approach, we activated our prior knowledge about the topic, discussed what we would like to learn about, created higher-order thinking questions to explore throughout, and finally identified the skills we would need throughout the topic.
Here are the questions we thought of collaboratively:
- What might be the history of the Tudors and Stuarts?
- What was fashion like in the Tudor times?
- What could be the story behind Henry VIII and his six wives?
- What might be the history behind the Great Fire of London?
- Why might have people liked/disliked Henry VIII?
- What would people have eaten in the Tudor and Stuart times?
- How might life have been for people who were rich compared to those who were poor?
- How might Wales have looked back then compared to now?
- How did the Battle of Bosworth affect Wales?
- How might we remember the Tudors and Stuarts in Wales?
