The children undertook a comprehension task to develop their understanding of Tudor and Stuart times in Wales and England. They had to use their reading skills to understand and answer questions based on the text.
Pupils began by creating a glossary of topic-based vocabulary. They used their Digital Citizenship skills to safely research definitions. Then, they read and summarised their findings into their own definitions.
Pupils created a timeline of the main historical events that shaped Wales and the UK from the Norman Conquest up to the Tudor Era. In order to be successful in this work, they had to use chronology skills to create an accurate timeline.
As part of our project, we have been reading a class novel called 'The Diver's Daughter'. Children in Year 4 used their Welsh writing skills to plan and write a 'Dyma Fi' text in character of Eve.
