Summer Term Monitoring

Health & Wellbeing-

  • AoLe Leader and The Triple H continue to work with the Emotional and Well-being Steering Committee to ensure improved provision for all learners, staff and wider community. The Steering Committee have developed action plans and strategies in line with Emotional and Mental Wellbeing framework, in order to support the wellbeing of learners, staff and the wider community. This work will support the inclusive whole-school approach to pupils’ health and wellbeing. This year, the Steering committee members, AoLe Leader and Triple H members have completed and reviewed the self-assessment tool through a shared process and agreed priorities for action following the evidence gathered. One very important and successful strategy developed this academic year has been the provision of professional and wellbeing support meetings for all support staff. These meetings discuss staff professional developments, training needs, successful implementation of policies and practice and any further areas of support they require. These meetings take place termly to provide ongoing support, reflection and provide an opportunity to discuss current needs.
  • The ALN Leader and the Cluster ALNCos have developed a first draft of the Universal Provision booklet. All staff will receive training regarding its implementation and application to learning across the school. This will then be followed with monitoring to review success of application and its impact on learner progress.
  • Listening to learners (Reception- Y6) demonstrated that the majority of learners like Jigsaw and feel that it allows them to feel calm and relaxed during the sessions. Children in Reception felt that the breathing exercises with Jerrie Cat helped them to feel calm. Children in Year 6 felt that the Jigsaw sessions allow them to develop a positive mindset due to the fun activities and topics covered. All of the children said that they feel that the breathing exercises and mindfulness activities allowed them to feel calm and relaxed. All children felt that they have their opinions heard and developed strategies to understand their own emotions and those of others.

Our next steps are:

  • The AoLE Leader and The Triple H to continue to work together to achieve the Silver Rights Respecting School Award to ensure that the rights of the child are promoted across LPS and the wider community.
  • AoLe Leader and the Triple H to continue to monitor the new playtime games and Jigsaw and to continue to listen to learners to develop them further to improve provision at playtime to enhance fitness, health and wellbeing.
  • The AoLE Leader and The Triple H to continue to meet with the EMHWB steering committee in the next academic year to develop new actions in line with the EMHWB framework. Our focus for the next academic year is to develop a quiet, calming outdoor space for learners following a listening to learners task. This will ensure that all learners enjoy the outdoor space and have the option to choose a quieter area if needed.
  • AoLE Leader, The Triple H and caretaker to monitor the use of plastic and food waste bins on the yards and continue to promote this in assemblies.  This will ensure that the whole school community have an understanding and awareness of the importance of recycling.
