Phonics assessments across progression step 1 and 2 have identified those in need of consolidation and within the boost group sessions, they are making steady progress.
Reading carousel is carried out across nearly all classes with further consistency in approach therefore ensuring reading is taught daily, with targeted intervention for daily readers.
Vocabulary Ninja, has been embedded across all classes from Y2-6. From listening to learners, it its evident that it has improved enthusiasm towards spelling lessons across progression step 2 and 3. Adaptations have been made for our younger learners.
Workbook scrutiny demonstrates that writing across many classes is linked to its genre and links with the new LPS projects have been improved to fully immerse learners within their learning project.
Written Welsh continues to be of a good quality across the school in most classes. When listening to learners, they could describe drillio and helper y dydd activities that have supported their fluency of age appropriate patterns.
