To finish the topic, we created a topic drawing where the children took it in turns to draw and write something that they have learned or spoken about throughout this topic.
The children had great fun drawing a dream that they have had and then talking us all through it.
The children work hard in pairs to identify the pictures on the sheet in front of them and then find the matching card from the pile.
The children has different picture cards to look at and in groups they were discussing what the card was, it’s use and if it’s out or we use it in the light or dark.
The children worked really hard to identify the pictures, explain what they do or are used for and then sort them into things we do, use or see in the light or dark,
The children had to put the children in the correct order from biggest to smallest and tell us what they could about stars.
The children worked really hard identifying and talking about each light source, then they had to count how many of each there were and write the number in the circle.
The children played a game of pairs together with the different light source pictures. Whilst playing the game they had to identify the source in the picture and give examples of where they would be used.
The children listened to a book about a baby owl and his mother and how an owl grows from a baby owlet to an adult. The children then had to put the pictures of the life cycle in the correct order.
The children had to identify the shadow and draw a line across to match it to the correct picture and explain what the object is used for.
The children had to identify the pictures and talk about what they are used for. Then they had to work out the pattern and fill in the gaps to finish it off.
The children had to choose 2 colours and colour the things that provide light in one colour and the things that do not in the other colour.
The children took it in turns to listen the the sentence and sort them into things we do in the day and things we do in the night.
The children worked together to sort the picture cards into two categories, one of objects that provide light and another of objects that do not.
The children learned that not everyone sleeps at the same time and what people have to work nights to help us. They then used picture cards of the night workers to play a game of pairs.
