Our robust self-evaluation process, displayed above, have generated the following agreed development targets:

1. Enhance our rotating plans and curriculum while embedding Development Pathways Wales in order to meet the needs of all children.

2. Further enhance our staff development using the SSTEW Scale Framework and the Foundation Learning Modules.

3. Review assessment procedures, in line with Curriculum for Wales and Developmental Pathways Wales.

4. Continue to develop out outdoor zone in order to provide rich opportunities for all children.

Current Review: 

With regards to the first development target, the children are enjoying participating in the set clubs so we are looking to further develop this and work towards creating a finished project at the end of each half term, rather than something stand-alone each week. This is something that if we implement we believe that the children will be more engaged in and excited to work on each week in order to reach an end goal e.g. a craft project or technology project.

When talking about our second target, we are continuing to use the SSTEW scale with the staff within our day care setting and they are all still of the opinion that it is beneficial to their professional development. We have begun to implement this scale with some of the staff within the after school provision and throughout the next academic year, our aim is to be implementing this scale with all members off staff, across all areas of the provision.

In relation to the third target, reviewing assessment procedures in light of the new curriculum. All of the activities and tasks that we plan are now in line with the curriculum for Wales and Developmental Pathways Wales.

For the final target, using the outdoor zone. We must ensure that all staff are using the outdoor zone where possible to its full potential, this allowing the children to explore and further their learning and development, in a way that they cannot do by staying indoors.
