This week we have been learning about directional language. Can you log on to HWB and have a go at the JIT Turtle Directions game?

 

1️⃣ Move the Turtle

  • 🐢 Move 3 steps forward – What happens?

  • 🐢 Move 2 steps backward – Where does it go?

 

2️⃣ Turn the Turtle

  • 🔄 Turn a quarter turn right – Which way is it facing now?

  • 🔄 Turn a half turn – Which way is it facing now?

 

3️⃣ Make a Shape

  • ⬛ Can you make the turtle move in a square? How many quarter turns did you need?

  • 🔺 Can you make the turtle draw a triangle, rectangle, or another shape? Write down the directions you used:

 

 

Tip: Use words like forward, backward, left, right, quarter turn, half turn, full turn when describing what your turtle does!
