Knowledge and Understanding

The children watched a video clip about different sources of light and from the information they learnt, they then sorted the sources of light and not sources of light pictures cards into two hoops.

The children found out if you move the object closer to the torch, the shadow will get bigger and if you move the object away from the torch, the shadow will get smaller.

The children went outside to play with their friends and noticed they saw their own shadows on the yard. The children found out that shadows can move and make different shapes when the sun blocks their body.

In Wraparound we have been learning about shiny and not shiny. The children enjoyed taken part in an experiment to find out which liquid would make the coin shiny. We had three different liquids, vinegar water and coke. The children predicted the vinegar would make the coin shiny. The children watched closely to see what had happened. We found out after doing the experiment the coke made the coin shiny.
