This week in Maths, we have been learning about tally charts and pictograms. We have practised collecting information, recording it using tally marks and interpreting simple pictograms.

Homework Task

Choose a category to investigate at home, such as:

• Favourite fruit
• Favourite colour
• Favourite pet
• Favourite ice cream flavour

Ask at least  4 people your question and record their answers in a tally chart.

Then, use your tally chart to create a pictogram to show your results.

Challenge: Can you answer these questions about your pictogram?

• Which was the most popular choice?
• Which was the least popular choice?
• How many votes were there altogether?
