This week in maths, we have been learning about halving even numbers to 20. Halving means sharing a number into two equal parts.
At home, please can you:
Practise halving even numbers to 20.
Use small objects (such as pasta, coins, toys, or buttons) to help you share into two equal groups.
Say the halves out loud.
For example:
Half of 2 = 1
Half of 4 = 2
Half of 6 = 3
Half of 10 = 5
More activities:
Find even numbers to 20 and practise halving them.
Draw a number of objects and circle half of them.
Challenge: Can you halve 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20?
