Topic

The children in Wraparound were introduced to the new topic 'Stars in the Sky'. They  were asked what they knew and what they would like to find out. They shared their information with their friends. During this topic the children learnt about time and Mrs Harris-Griffiths wrote down the children's answers about what they do before they go to bed. The children watched a video clip about bedtime routine and talked about their daily bedtime routine and sequenced picture cards in order. They then chose a hour clock picture and used the clocks to move the hands to make hour time.

What they wanted to find out

What is our bedtime routine?

What are the name of the different planets?

How many planets are there?

What are stars?

What are constellations?

The children in Wraparound asked to find out how many planets there were in the solar system and the different names of the planets. To find out they listened and watched the solar system song and it showed them there were 8 planets.

We found out constellations are made from different shapes and patterns.

A children in Wraparound was very clever to take a photo using the iPad of a shadow made by Mrs Harris-Griffiths of the constellation star, the big dipper on the light box.

We are making constellation shapes using cotton buds.

We found out that stars are of different sizes, colour and different temperature.

Finding a pair.
