Meet the Angle Family!

This week in Maths, we will be learning all about angles and getting to know the different members of the Angle Family!

Your first task is to carefully read through the attached PowerPoint and familiarise yourself with the different types of angles, including their names and what makes each one unique.

Your Challenge:
Create an eye-catching and informative Angle Family Poster that introduces each type of angle. You could include:

  • The name of each angle
  • A diagram or drawing
  • A description of its size
  • Interesting facts or ways to remember it

Be as creative as you like! Your poster will be a useful resource that we can refer to during our Maths lessons next week.

⭐ Bonus Challenge: Angle Hunt! ⭐

Can you become an angle detective? Look around your home and see how many different angles you can spot. Make a list, draw them, or take photos if possible. Can you find examples of:

  • Acute angles
  • Right angles
  • Obtuse angles
  • Straight angles

I can't wait to see your fantastic Angle Family posters and discover what angles you find around your home!

Spellings:

Practise your spellings for our quiz on Friday and the High Frequency Words. Why don’t you try using some of the strategies that we use in class, like roll the dice spellings, rainbow spellings, picture spellings or pyramid spellings?

Topic:

Task 1: Can you help our Fitness Fanatics develop fun and healthy playtime games and orienteering activities for all children at LPS? You can present your ideas however you like, either on paper as a drawing, instruction method or using ICT.

Task 2: The Fitness Fanatics would like to create a healthy snack for the LPS Tuckshop and Summer Fete. Can you come up with some healthy snack ideas that is packed with vitamin and minerals, nut free and will provide you will provide you with the required energy levels to lead a healthy and active day, while low on calories?

Bonus Task: Come up with a business name that will entice people to visit our Fete stall and buy our healthy snack!
