    Mathematics

In preparation for the Reasoning National Tests - which will now be sat next week, I have provided some example questions that may be asked during the test. Make sure you write down what you know and choose a method you are comfortable with to solve the problem.

Anything you are unsure of, please bring in to school, and we will look at them together.

Don't forget you still have access to MyMaths for you to practise as much as you like. Please click here visit the MyMaths website.  Important: Don't forget to select the 'Lesson' before attempting the 'Online Task' task. If you don't get things correct first time, keep trying the tasks until you have a better understanding or ask for help.

    Enterprise Project: LPS Farmers Market

    Task 1:

As part of your Enterprise Project, design a poster to advertise our stall in the LPS Summer Fete.

    • You will need to think of a name for our stall, last year it was 'Farmer's Favourite'.
    • Include some of the vegetables we are selling - carrots, potatoes, radish, peas, lettuce, cress.
    • Create a snappy slogan to persuade people to buy our products.

You could use Adobe Express, draw your own poster or come up with your own methods for creating the poster.

    Task 2:

Research and record about plants, flowers, vegetables and fruits:

    • How do they grow?
    • What conditions suit them best?
    • Life-cycle, germination, seed dispersal, etc.

Use your research to prepare a short presentation:

    • Biology and functions of a plant – what does each part do?
    • Life cycle of a plant – what conditions or factors affect their growth?
    • How do plants affect larger ecosystems? (food chains, humans, animals, etc.)

You could cre4ate your presentation on Hwb or on paper, ready to share on Friday.
