    Area of Learning Progression Models:

    At LPS we have designed and created agreed Progression Models for all Areas of Learning within our LPS Curriculum. The key features and purpose of these Progression Models are outlined below:

    • The progression models are designed to ensure that all learners have access to and work towards the 4 Purposes of the Curriculum of Wales, enabling them to become:
      • ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives
      • enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
      • ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
      • healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society
    • They also ensure that there is full compliance and coverage of all aspects of

    • Expectations within each Progression Model are high.
    • Each Progression Model is designed to be relevant and reflect local, national and international contexts.
    • Each Progression Model provides opportunities for learners to engage with learning experiences that broaden opportunities and horizons.
    • Each Progression Model is designed to ensure that all learners are provided with enriched, memorable experiences that directly relate to the real world and consolidate learning.
    • Learners are able to access the required level at the required time, through support, intervention and extension.
    • These progression models form the basis for our planning and assessment procedures to enable the tracking of learner progress.
