At LPS we have designed and created agreed Progression Models for all Areas of Learning within our LPS Curriculum. The key features and purpose of these Progression Models are outlined below:
The progression models are designed to ensure that all learners have access to and work towards the 4 Purposes of the Curriculum of Wales, enabling them to become:
ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives
enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society
They also ensure that there is full compliance and coverage of all aspects of
AoLE Statements of What Matter
AoLE Descriptors of Learning
Cross-Curricular Skills
Integral Skills
Cross Cutting Themes
Expectations within each Progression Model are high.
Each Progression Model is designed to be relevant and reflect local, national and international contexts.
Each Progression Model provides opportunities for learners to engage with learning experiences that broaden opportunities and horizons.
Each Progression Model is designed to ensure that all learners are provided with enriched, memorable experiences that directly relate to the real world and consolidate learning.
Learners are able to access the required level at the required time, through support, intervention and extension.
These progression models form the basis for our planning and assessment procedures to enable the tracking of learner progress.
