Croeso i'n tudalen dosbarth Blwyddwn 3!

Welcome to our Year 3 class page!

Hello and a very warm welcome to the Year 3 webpage! I hope that you all had a fabulous summer! I am really looking forward to teaching your children this year. Working alongside me in Year 3 this year is Ms John, and we are really excited to get started on our learning projects! This is just a short note to outline key routines and information.

Reading Books and Reading Records - It is important that reading books and reading records are taken home/returned to school every day, as there are daily timetabled sessions for group reading. Children will be given a reading day when they will be listened to by an adult, however, they may also read at additional times. Please read with your children as much as possible and you are welcome to make comments in their reading records. If your child finishes their reading book before their allocated reading day, then they can see myself or another member of staff to change their book - please do not wait until their reading day.

PE - This half-term, PE will take place every Tuesday and Thursday. Please can all children wear their PE kit to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. PE will start the week commencing Monday 7th September. The children must wear PE kit which is suitable for outdoor PE lessons. Earrings must be removed for lessons, if your child is unable to do this by themselves, please could they not wear them on their PE day. Also, please ensure long hair is tied back. Thank you.

Forest School - This will take place on a fortnightly basis (dates will be communicated to you via the School App). Please wear long-sleeved clothing for the activities, and please consider the weather to ensure appropriate attire.

Spelling - A spelling session will be taught in class on a Monday and a spelling list linked to the lesson will be uploaded to the Homework section of the class webpage, ready for a quiz the following Friday.

Times Tables and Mental Maths - There will be weekly mental maths and times table quizzes which will take place on a Friday. Details for each week's quiz can be found in the Homework section on our Class Page.

Pupil Information - In order to maintain up to date records, please could you inform the office of any updates regarding allergies, medication, or dietary requirements the children may have.

Stationery Equipment – We will provide all equipment (pens, pencils, rulers, etc.) that will be required for lessons. However, if children wish to bring their own equipment, they can do so. Pencil cases will need to be of a sensible size.

Please regularly check our class page as I will frequently be sharing our learning experiences with you!

Many thanks for your cooperation. If you have any questions or queries about anything, please don’t hesitate to give me a call on the school phone number. I am looking forward to a fabulous year with your wonderful children!

    Miss Evans.
