The children have been very busy learning and exploring numbers through play.  They had fun writing numbers on the paint sensory bag and using their counting skills to find the sea creatures in the rock pool. They used a tally mark to record the quantity. They enjoyed counting and threading the beads on pipe cleaners to match the same number on the tray. The children used their fishing rods to catch the sea creatures and, by recognising and counting numbers, they were able to match the quantity to the coloured bowls.

 The children chose to copy a pattern of two or three shells, using the shell cards to help.
