The children wanted to share what they knew about fairytales with their friends and asked question about what they wanted to find out. They wanted to find out,

Why the wolf could not blow down the brick house?

Why did Goldilocks eat baby bears porridge?

Listen to the children below answered the questions they wanted to find out.

The children done a science experiment to find out which house was the strongest?

We first read the story The Three Little Pigs, and looked closely to the materials in the story to make our own houses to blown down. Then we were ready to put on our thinking caps to perform this science experiment. To set up this science investigation, we gathered three items of varying weight. We used straw, plastic duplo blocks, and lollipop sticks. We decide to be the wolf and we “huffed and puffed” very hard to find out which house would blow down.

The children received a letter from the wolf saying he is sorry for tricking Red Riding Hood and being unkind. He would like the children to help him make some delicious treats for Little Red Riding Hood and Grandma. The wolf left a bag with a recipe, shape cutters and red food colouring. Together the children and i decided to make some shape cookies and decorate them red, which is Little Red Riding Hood's favourite colour. The children enjoyed weighing, pouring, mixing and rolling the ingredients ready to use their chosen shape for their cookie.

Look at our great Gingerbread People we are making.

We are very clever practicing writing our sounds of the alphabet. The Gingerbread people are helping us remember.

The children received a letter and map from the King in Fairytale Land, asking for help. There were many challenges the children had to solve. The children were ready and up for the challenge! They used the map to help them along the way to solve the problems. First they had to follow the numbers on the trail and look out for the missing tiaras, then they had to find the lost fairytale character before they came to a bridge. Would they dare cross over to find who stole all the tiaras? Can they solve the mystery? Yes! The children did not hesitate. They slowly tip toed towards the wolf. They were on a mission to help the king. Lastly they came across number 7. They looked at what they had to do. Together they decided to re-build the falling down castle in time for the fairytale ball. The children completed the tasks, they did a fantastic job! The King will be so happy.
