Autumn time has arrived! Wraparound children have been learning about the different signs of fall, like leaves starting to change colour because of the colder weather. They had fun exploring Autumn through their play activities. Together we read a story about Autumn and from the story the children shared what they think happened during Autumn.
The children were excited about making leaf prints and hedgehogs in the play dough, singing along and joining in with the Autumn movements, as well as getting messy in the sensory Autumn tray with the cinnamon shaving foam, and using different tools to discover what was inside a pumpkin. But most of all, they love making Autumn soup in the mud kitchen.
Busy making pumpkin cookies to take home. The children enjoyed using the weighing scale to measure the ingredients as well as pouring, mixing, stirring and rolling the mixture together before they went into the oven to bake.
The children in Wraparound have so much fun in a space for true discovery to explore messy sensory play for them to have the opportunity to create using their wonderful imagination. They enjoyed making pumpkin pies, Autumn chocolate cakes and using the tools to collect the pumpkin to make some pumpkin soup.
Autumn art work. The children used the cotton duds to choose which colour to print the Autumn leaves on their tree.
