During the topic,'What was it like in the past?' the children listened to a story 'The Elves and the Shoemaker'. With a little help from Mrs Harris-Griffiths, the children learnt the story was an old story that they hadn't heard or watched before. Mrs Harris-Griffiths thought the children had an old nursery rhyme that they enjoyed joining in together. Mrs Harris-Griffiths asked the children if they had seen a cobbler mend a shoe before using a needle and thread? The children looked at pictures and a video clip on how we mend our shoes today and from the past to compare. 

The children sorted old and new toys into separate groups. 

Together the children talked about the past and present pictures of different objects. They then matched them together.
