Week Beginning: 29-6-2020

Home Learning Tasks

Welcome to the Home Learning Area for Year 6. Below is a list of activities for your children to complete throughout the week, at their own leisure.

The Home Learning Area will be updated for the start of every Monday and feedback will be provided on the tasks completed by the children (remember to check pupil Hwbmail).

Feel free to send any pictures or videos of the work and I will display them below.

Thank you very much for your co-operation during this time.

Mr Williams.

Class Connectivity

To keep our class connected and to see what we all have been doing during these unprecedented times, I would like you to send me either a picture or small video of something you have been up to. This could include a walk, exercise routines, painting, etc - anything you have been up to and want to share. I will then put all of these moments into a video montage to share with you at the end of each week.

End of Year Reports

Pupil review Sheet

At this time of year we would be looking back at our learning across all topics and experiences throughout the year in order to reflect on your most enjoyable moments. This will be your task for this week. Important: Only focus on Year 6 - There will be another task for the Y6 Leavers' Book that will recap all of your time at LPS.

  • Look at the PowerPoint below to remind yourself of your learning this year. Click here to visit the topic pages and see example of the work.
  • Download the writing template below and use the plan in the PowerPoint to write the first draft of your review.
  • This task will be included in your end of year report, so just as in school, do not accept your first attempt. Share your work with me and I will provide feedback via email to help you improve your texts and make sure you have included everything you need.

LPS Memories

This task is similar to the Pupil Review for your reports. For this task, you will need to think about all of your time at LPS. You will need to write about some of the best memories and experiences from your time at LPS.

Think about:

  • Your favourite topics
  • Your favourite class trips, visits or concerts
  • Funny events that have happened in school or on trips
  • Your greatest achievements while at LPS - What are you most proud of?
  • What will you miss about LPS?
  • Leaving LPS - What are you looking forward to or excited about?
  • Remember - this is a recount so you will need to include all of the important details - see the PowerPoint below to remind you.

Download the template below, or create your own. I have used the year groups as headings of each section, but you can change them to whatever you want - it's up to you how you set it out.

I have shared a Photo Folder with you. You can access it in your OneDrive on Hwb. Try not to use too many photos - 3 or 4 would be ideal. I will add to these photos when I find more on the school computer.

Share your work with me and I will provide feedback via email to help you improve your texts and make sure you have included everything you need.

I have set you 2 tasks this week. If you do not have time to complete them all, then only complete what you can. Complete the tasks in the order shown below. They will be available from Monday 29th June until Sunday 5th July.

Make sure you select the 'Lesson' first, this will help you understand the topic, before completing the 'Online Homework' task.

Remember - You can retry the questions as many times as you want to try and improve your score. This is important as it will tell me if you have understood the task.

  2. Translating Shapes

Your spelling words are available for you to learn - a family member could test you on Friday.

You could also complete the activities from Friday's Spelling lesson - sentences, definitions and 'words within words'. Don't forget to share your work with me.
