Play, Learn and Grow Together

Week 4/5/2020

Hi everyone! I have had great emails from your families telling me you all enjoyed learning about the rainforest! Well done! This is our last week on the Scented Garden topic and I'm very excited to start our new topic next week!

This is my Reception class school photo! Can you spot me? I'll tell you where I am at the bottom of the page :)

This week we've been playing Santa and built a sleigh! We had fun making pizzas too. Yum!

Well done on last week's unit of work! This week we are learning about number bonds using MyMaths To consolidate your learning of the maths topics we have studied over the past weeks, try this super game on BBC Bitesize - Karate Cats! Its great!

Enjoy your text set on Giglets and use Oxford Owl for your second book. Choose your correct level and select a book to read and enjoy!

Spellings are saved in your usual place. Don't forget that you can also use Phonics Play and select a game to practise previous skills too.

I know from your emails that you all enjoyed learning about plants and trees in the Rainforest - I'm glad you all had fun!

This week is the final week of our Scented Garden Topic!

I would like us all to look back over the past weeks and think about our learning. You have all learned so much and completed so many great activities! Look back through all the photos and activities we have done and think about:

After thinking about this carefully, can you create a super evaluation to sum up everything you have learned over the last 6 weeks? Your super evaluation could be a sentence, a poster, a booklet, a drawing with labels etc or a j2e mix presentation. You can choose how you want to present it, make sure it shows everything you have learned about plants.

  • What do I know about plants and trees that I didn't know before?
  • What do plants need to grow?
  • Why are trees and plants important to us and our environment?
  • How do plants and trees help us? What do they give us?
  • What was your favourite part of the topic?

You could also use these great resources on BBC Bitesize to help you.

I'm second row, first seat on the left in a green dress and my favourite bright red shoes :)
