Home Learning Area Tasks for the week of: 27/04/2020

Hi Everyone,

Hope you're all ok and enjoying the sunny weather!

Keep sending me your work, pictures and videos!

Stay safe, take care, missing everyone!

Miss Evans.

MyMaths: Data

In Select Curriculum on the left hand side, select Curriculum for Wales, then select Using Data Skills from the library, then select Present and Analyse Data, then select Introducing Interpreting Data.

(If you want to recap data that we have already done in class, then you can click on the Introducing Data lesson and the Pictograms and Bar Charts lesson.)

Go through the lesson like we do on the ctouch board in class.

I have set you a Data activity, just login to your portal using your personal login details.

Here are some hyperlinks for some fun games you can play to help you practise Data:

Optional Data Task

Why don't you have a go at collecting some data of your own, and creating a bar graph with the data!

You could create a graph to represent:

> how many different minibeasts you find in your garden in one day

> different colour t-shirts you own

> how many different colour flowers you see on while you're out on a walk

> different types of toys you own (eg. toys with wheels, soft toys, board games, construction toys etc)

> how many different colour smarties are in a bumper pack.

Or of course, you could choose your own data to collect!

You can record your data in a tally chart first, then create a bar graph!

Remember to label your axis and give your graph a title!

Can you interpret your graph? Maybe you could set some questions about your graph and ask someone in your family to answer them!

Have fun!

Giglets: The Island Of The Sun and A Riddle

I have assigned you the above two books.

Read The Island Of The Sun and answer the Higher Order Thinking Skills Questions.

Read A Riddle and answer the Reading Test Questions.

Topic Task: Expressive Arts / Humanities

As you all really enjoyed making your volcanoes, I thought I'd set another arty task this week! Why don't you have a go at creating a 3D natural disaster!

It can be any disaster of your choice, and you can be as creative as you want!

Here are some 3D natural disasters I saw online to give you some inspiration!

As always, remember to send me pictures of your amazing creations! Have fun!

This is the last week we will be learning about Natural Disasters! Look out for our new topic, starting next week!

Spellings: Please see the spelling section as usual for your weekly spellings.
