Week: 23/03/2020

Welcome to the Home Learning Area for Year 1. Below is a list of activities for your children to complete throughout the week, at their own leisure.

The Home Learning Area will be updated for the start of every Monday and feedback will be provided on the tasks completed by the children.

Thank you very much for your co-operation during this time.

Miss Nicholas.

Home Learning Area Tasks for the week of: 23/03/2020

MyMaths:

Login to MyMaths using the school login.

From the drop down menu on the left hand side, click on Number, then Number and Place Value and then Y2 Number and place value. Complete the online lesson on place value and then login to your portal using your personal login to complete the online homework.

The following interactive games could also be used to consolidate your learning (while having fun playing games)

Giglets:

This week I would like you to read the book 'How Plants Grow' and then you have been assigned a task to complete afterwards.

Topic Work:

This week your homework is to log in to your HWB account and create a poster on J2e labelling each part of the plants and explaining its job (if you cannot access your HWB account you can always use Powerpoint or draw your own posters). We have looked at some parts of the plant, but can you find out more?

Below are a list of useful websites you might like to use for research -

Any work or photos of your work can be emailed to me - NicholasL17@hwbcymru.net.

Remember to have fun finding out new things.

If possible it would be amazing if you could plant your own flower and keep a diary of its growth and how it changes. Remember what it needs to grow healthily from our Science Investigation. smiley Take photos etc and send them to me, and I can post them on the school website.

Why not have a competition with your family to see who can grow the tallest sunflower?

Spellings:

Please see the spellings section as usual for your weekly spellings!
