Welcome to the Home Learning Area for Year 6. Below is a list of activities for your children to complete throughout the week, at their own leisure.

The Home Learning Area will be updated for the start of every Monday and feedback will be provided on the tasks completed by the children.

Thank you very much for your co-operation during this time.

Mr Williams.

Home Learning Tasks

MyMaths: https://www.mymaths.co.uk/

In the top left-hand corner select 'Curriculum for Wales'. Then, from the 'Library', choose 'Using Data Skills'. The select 'Probability'. I would like you to try, 'Y5 - Probability Intro' to recap previous work. Select the 'Lesson' to help you understand before completing the 'Online Homework' task.

If you're feeling confident after competing the first lesson, then try, 'Y7 - Simple Probability'. Don't forget to select the 'Lesson' before attempting the 'Online Homework' task.

Don't forget there is also a selection of Maths websites on the Year 6 class page - click here to view.

Giglets: https://giglets.com/

There are two books for you to read. Once you have read them carefully, complete the Higher Order Thinking Skills task and also the Reading Test Questions.

Book 1: Rainforests

Book 2: The Flight of Icarus

Topic Work: Q: What is the most important part of a plant? (LPS Matrix Question)

For this task, research parts of plants (e.g. roots, leaves, stem, flowers) and explain the purpose of each part.

It is up to you how you wish to record and present the information - think about what would make it engaging for your audience (photos, diagrams - don't forget to reference any sources you use).  Make sure to share your work with me after you have completed the task.

You may find these websites helpful, but you can also use your own:

Spellings: https://www.llangyfelachprimaryschool.co.uk/test-date-27-3-20/

Your spelling words are available for you to learn - a family member could test you on Friday.

You could also complete the activities from Friday's Spelling lesson - sentences, definitions and 'words within words'. Don't forget to share your work with me.
