Home Learning Area Tasks for the week of: 20.04.20: New topic- Wriggle and Crawl!
Before you start I'd like you to watch the videos below and think about our new topic 'Wriggle and Crawl'. When you are watching these I want you to think about what you want to find out.
Maths: Numbers of the week: 18 and 19. Use the number blocks websites for powerpoints- 'Fluffies' and 'Blast off'. Watch the episodes!
Great job answering your friends addition questions last week! The videos you sent were brilliant!
This week I would like you to think about the days of the week. Can you watch our video below and join in with us singing our days of the week song? Can you record yourself singing it too and teach it to your family? I want you to also think about the months of the year- do you know what month your birthday is?
Reading: This week I would like you to listen to my story, 'The Hungry Caterpillar'. Once you have listened to it, answer my questions below:
1. How many plums did the caterpillar eat?
2. How did the caterpillar feel after eating too much food?
3. On what day did the caterpillar eat the strawberries?
4. How many pieces of food did the caterpillar eat on Saturday?
5. Draw or make a caterpillar or butterfly!
6. Move like a caterpillar and butterfly.
7. Can you find a caterpillar or butterfly on your bug hunt?
Lot's of you have signed up to Oxford Owl, where you can find some Biff, Chip and Kipper ebooks. This week, choose a book to read at your correct reading level.
Topic Work: I want you all to think of one question you would like to find out about our new topic, Wriggle and Crawl. Can you record yourself asking this question?
I want you to have a bug hunt in your garden- what can you find? Take lot's of photos and videos!

Phonics: Sound of the week- 'J'. Can you complete the below nelson handwriting sheet in your homework book? Write the sentence 'Jack jumps'.
Can you find things in your house/ garden that begin with j? Tell your family what you have found!
Can you spell any words beginning with j? Write them in your homework books! Keep practicing your high frequency words!
