Happy Easter to all of Year 2! xxx
I hope the Easter Bunny was kind to you all! I can't wait to see all your photos!
Please can you send any photos to me of Easter fun or stay at home fun in the sun? I am going to make a virtual Year 2 class fun day! There may be some familiar faces in there too :) I would like to do this as soon as possible so please could you email me a maximum of 3 photos by Monday or Tuesday evening? I'll look forward to putting it together and sharing it with you all. Thanks x
MYMATHS
Well done to you all on your measuring task! I loved seeing photos of you measuring items in the home. This week's focus is a tricky one - money! Again, with this concept, the more practical the work the better before you attempt the MyMaths online work set. familiarise yourself with all of the coins.
Set up a shop in your home, make price tags for your items. It could be a toy shop, food, easter, football shop - whatever takes your fancy! You can set prices up to £1 or £2. You can stick to prices within multiples of ten (10p, 20p, 30p etc) or you can create your own prices (21p, 35p etc). If you are feeling very confident you could add two items together and pay for the total. Or... if you are feeling super duper confident then you could add two items and also give change from £1 or £2!
GIGLETS
This week your task has been set on the poem, The Canary. I hope you enjoy it.
I know many of you are enjoying using Oxford Owl, for your second text select a book from there. If you have not tried it, go online, join for free and you can select all the reading books that we have in school and more! My little boy is really enjoying them! Let me know what you think.
TOPIC
The Easter Bunny needs your help! Can you help to make sure his eggs are delivered undamaged? Can you create a package that would protect a real or small chocolate egg from a 1.5metre drop?
1/ Make a drawing of your design and label it with materials used.
2/ You may want to make a short 30second video of you talking about your design and trialling it.
3/ Do you need to make any changes to your design after your trial?
4/ Film your final attempt.
5/ Evaluate your design. What went well? What didn't work so well? What would you change if you were to do it again?
SPELLINGS
Spellings can be found in the usual place. Don't forget PhonicsPlay which has great acitivies to support word building too.
