This is what we've been up to this week!

I went on a bike ride to Pembrey and have been doing lot's of Joe Wicks workouts!

Home Learning Area Tasks for the week of: 04.05.20

  

Maths: This week I would like you to practice some number patterns. Can you practice counting in 2s? This video will help you learn how to count in 2s. Have a go! Can you remember what a pair is? Watch this video and tell your family. Continue to watch Number blocks- The Troublesome Twos.

 

Can you join in and sing the days of the week in Welsh with us? Record yourself joining in!

 

Reading: This week I would like you to listen to Miss Gibbs story, 'Super Worm'. Once you have listened to it, answer my questions below:

1. Did you notice any rhyming words? Can you find the rhyming words?

2. Why was the super worm cross?

3. Where did Baby Toad hop?

4. What colour was the servant crow?

 

Remember, words that rhyme have the same sound.

Can you think of any words that rhyme with:

1. Cat

2. Boat 

 

I have assigned you ‘ Caterpillar Butterfly’ on Giglets.

 

Topic Work: Find all your topic questions here. 

Last week you answers Avery's question- 'Why does a centipede have so many legs?'- See everyones great answers here!

 

This week I would like you to answer Charlie's question:

 

'What does a butterfly eat?'

 

Record your answer. 

 

Penny had a great idea last week of making a bug hotel. She used some wood for hers. You could use something from your recycling. What will the insects need? I'm looking forward to seeing your creative bug hotels!

 

Phonics: Sound of the week- ‘v’. Can you complete the below nelson handwriting sheet in your homework book? Write the sentence ‘Vicki visits the vet’.

Can you find things in your house/ garden that begin with v? Tell your family what you have found! 

Can you spell any words beginning with v? Write them in your homework books! Use the games below to practice reading high frequency words!
