Our Internal Pupil Outcome Moderation procedures (Standardisation & Moderation) procedures occur Half Termly during the first ADDs session after a school holiday.
Staff bring examples of work from their year groups demonstrating Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Welsh and ICT application across the curriculum, as highlighted in the chart below.
This will be moving to the 6 AOLEs from September 2022.
All staff share each other’s work to seek agreement on expectation, standards and discuss ways forward for the examples of work.
This system is highly effective for supporting whole school improvement in the following ways:
Ensuring that the non-negotiables are in order across the whole school.
Ensuring that staff have a clear understanding and knowledge of the school's expectations, Areas of Learning and Programmes of Study (Moving to AoLE, SWM and DoL in September 2022).
Ensuring clarity of expectation from EY to Y6 for all staff.
Enabling the SLT to monitor policy adherence in areas such as Marking, Presentation, AfL, etc.
Enabling AoLE Leaders to gauge standards, progression and outcome across the school.
Ensuring continuity, progression and breadth of cover.
Enabling leaders to locate good practice that can be signposted and identify areas for improvement.
Proving opportunity for staff to engage in deep professional discussion around Teaching, Learning and Leadership.
Providing opportunities for leaders to monitor the progress of the SIP Targets through the pupil’s work.
