Internal Standardisation

  • Our Internal Standardisation procedures occur Half Termly during the first ADDs session after a school holiday.
  • Staff bring levelled work from their classes in English, Maths, Science, Welsh and ICT as highlighted in the Standardisation Chart below.
  • All staff share each other’s work to seek agreement on the levels provided and discuss ways forward for the examples of work.
  • This system is highly effective for the development of provision and standards across the whole school by:
    • Ensuring that the non-negotiables are in order across the whole school.
    • Ensuring that staff have a clear understanding and knowledge of the Level Descriptors, Areas of Learning and Programmes of Study.
    • Ensuring clarity of expectation from EY to Y6 for all staff.
    • Enabling the SLT to monitor policy adherence in areas such as Marking, Presentation, AfL, etc.
    • Providing scheme coverage assurance.
    • Proving opportunity for staff to engage in deep professional discussion around Teaching & Learning.
    • Monitoring the progress of the SIP Targets through the pupil’s work.
